Cooperative Djiguiyaso
Project Dates: 2007 - 2012Cooperative Djiguiyaso was founded by Aissata Namoko, a woman whose business background assisted in the cooperative’s objective to target poverty issues in the community. Since 1994 they have helped women transition to the workplace, established a crochet workshop and created high quality products made of local cotton. They train approximately 20 women annually in crochet, embroidery and sewing. After having attended several international trade shows, including SIDIM in Montreal, Canada and Maison et Objet in France, they are eager to expand their designs as well as their export capabilities.
