Ndem Maam Samba
Ndem Maam Samba, a seventeen-year-old company founded by Ndem’s spiritual leader, Babacar Mbow, is situated in the arid landscape of the Baol region, 75 miles outside of Dakar. The villagers’ spiritual belief in hard work pays off as profits from the business go into infrastructure and services, such as schools, health clinics and drip-irrigated gardens. Weaving, dyeing and tailoring are the backbone of Ndem Maam Samba and what provides the products for their store in Dakar and some thirty clients abroad, most of them in France.
