Esther Production
Project Dates: 2007 - 2012Esther Production is a cooperative that employs over 60 women in Bobo Dioulasso, Burkina Faso. They specialize in spinning, weaving and dyeing cotton fabrics. They work extensively in the bogolan technique (mud dyeing) and buy most of their base fabric from another women’s cooperative. They have participated in local and international exhibitions and regularly go to SIAO, an international trade fair in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. At the most recent SIAO fair in October 2008, their products were featured in the Creativity Hall; an exhibit of the best and most creative products at the trade fair. They sell through their own store as well as exporting though the VAO (Village Artisanal de Ouagadougou).
