Aj Quen
The artisans of Aj Quen live in the hills above Lake Atitlan and have already sold their baby bonnets, booties and cosmetic cases to U.S. retailers such as the shops at the San Diego Zoo. Aid to Artisans provided training and help with product design and production for export markets and the young women are now training their mothers. A portion of the money they earn is deposited in a group account for new materials and the balance goes to support their families.
