Artetropic
Artetropic is comprised of 33 artisan associations and provides work for 664 families making crafts from natural fibers found in the jungle.Artetropic is located in Bolivia's principal coca-producing region where tensions between farmers and the military are high and where artisan enterprises can provide an alternative to coca cultivation. The crafts, which include natural fibers such as jipi japa and majo hats, banana bark and orange peel boxes, chuchio baskets, are predominantly produced by women artisans.
